Parking at Kia Oval for a Test match

The Kia Oval is a ground to reach by train, Tube or bus if you can. Surrey does not offer ordinary spectator parking for match days. Drivers need a separate commercial booking or a carefully arranged accessible space, with the final journey to their entrance planned before they leave home. Road closures around Kennington and Oval make simply driving towards the ground a poor starting point.

Last checked 13 October 2026. Match-specific arrangements take priority.

Is there parking at the Kia Oval on Test days?

Surrey’s travel page states that general matchday parking is unavailable at or in the immediate vicinity of the ground. Its limited Blue Badge arrangement is separate and is off-site for internationals. The club’s guidance was checked on 13 October 2026.

Do not use conference parking instructions for a Test visit. Before buying a commercial space, compare its vehicle entrance with the gate on your cricket ticket. A nearby postcode can still leave you on the other side of a road closure or with a longer pedestrian approach than expected.

A city-centre car park and the last part of the journey

Q-Park’s official Oval page recommends Q-Park Victoria, on Arneway Street, SW1P 2TX. It offers online pre-booking and publishes an estimated 23-minute walk to the Oval. Treat that as the operator’s general walking estimate, then check the route to your own gate and the needs of your group.

Victoria’s operator page lists entry and exit throughout the day and night, seven days a week, a 2.10-metre vehicle-height limit and six disabled spaces. These details were checked on 13 October 2026. Confirm the pedestrian exit and lift arrangements directly if your party needs a step-free route.

No standard tariff was displayed on the operator page when checked. Get a price for the actual hours through its booking form; a fixed 2027 Test-day rate is TBC. Compare the cost of parking and onward travel together. If you choose to walk, make sure everyone is comfortable doing that distance twice.

Surrey does not list a dedicated Test park-and-ride in its travel information. A commercial car park followed by a Tube journey is an independent travel choice: book the parking and public transport separately, with enough time to reach your gate.

Kennington restrictions and driveway bookings

Lambeth’s controlled parking zones regulate local streets, while the signs at individual bays specify their use and operating hours. The council gives the example of a KB bay: this is for holders of a Kennington business permit, not a general visitor space. Read the whole sign before leaving the car.

Surrey also warns of major-match road closures around Kennington and Oval. Check the club’s instructions before driving to any nearby private space. A booking gives permission to use that space; it does not remove road-access restrictions on the way there. Ask the space provider how to approach during the match-day arrangements.

JustPark and YourParkingSpace list independently bookable parking in the area, including private spaces. Read the dimensions, access times and cancellation policy for the individual listing. Check that the booking covers your full stay and that the walking route suits your party. These services are mentioned without affiliate links.

Accessible and Blue Badge parking

Surrey opens its limited matchday Blue Badge parking bookings four weeks before a fixture. Email accessibility@surreycricket.com to ask for a space and the arrangements for your date. For internationals the spaces are off-site, so request the address and route to your entrance when booking.

Ask about the total transfer from car to viewing position, including any companion arrangements. The Oval accessibility guide helps you compare the routes inside the ground. The booking confirmation should settle where to drive; do not arrive expecting to obtain a space at a gate.

Better without a car

Oval station serves the Northern line; Vauxhall has the Victoria line and National Rail services. Surrey gives a ten-minute walk from Vauxhall to the ground. Choosing between them can remove the parking search altogether, particularly if your main-line train already calls at Vauxhall.

Our Getting there section compares the approaches. Check TfL’s journey planner for the date and any access needs. Plan the way home at the same time as the outward trip, especially when travelling with children or changing onto a longer-distance train.

Leaving after stumps

Surrey’s warning about major-match road closures applies to planning collection as well as arrival. Use the pick-up location and approach agreed with the parking provider or access team. The club has not published a 2027 traffic-clearance time, so no fixed queue duration is given here. Check the matchday notice before departure.
