Edgbaston seating plan for a Test match
Edgbaston gives you several different Test days within the same boundary: the singing across Hollies, the straight view from South, and the family allocation in Dennis Amiss. Start with the kind of day your group wants, then narrow the choice to a tier and row. This plan compares the stand positions; the club’s booking map supplies the individual seats. Select a label to open the detailed stand guide before you decide.
Last checked 13 October 2026. Match-specific arrangements take priority.

How the blocks and rows work at Edgbaston
Read an Edgbaston seat in stages: stand, tier where shown, block, then the row and seat on the ticketing plan. West Lower and West Upper are separate choices. Stanley Barnes also has two levels, with a temporary upper tier for major matches. Press Box is divided into lower and upper seating. A matching stand name alone therefore does not tell you that two tickets sit together.
The club explicitly identifies Dennis Amiss blocks 1–3 as alcohol-free. For other block numbers, exact seat positions and offered row letters, use the official 2027 seating map and the live ticket selector. There is no single published row-to-roof rule covering the whole stadium. Use the seat selector for an exact pair, and ask the ticket office if access or shelter determines your purchase.

Choosing between neighbouring stands
When two available tickets cost the same, compare where your attention will fall. An end-on place makes the bowler’s approach prominent. A side-on position helps you follow the running between wickets and the shape of strokes. More height gives a wider field picture; sitting closer to the boundary brings the nearest fielders into the foreground. These are viewing preferences, so talk them through with the people sharing the day.
Keep the viewing ticket and any private-room entitlement together when comparing packages. A seat near an indoor space does not automatically include admission to it. For a group buying separately, agree the full stand and tier name first, and check the final ticket descriptions before everyone completes payment.
Best seats for…
Shade after lunch
Start with South’s covered seating, then establish how far the offered row sits beneath the structure. Front positions have greater exposure, so choose the actual row before relying on the stand’s southern position.

Behind the bowler’s arm
South Lower is the club’s named ground-level choice for watching along the wicket. Compare it with northern-end RES Wyatt if you prefer the reverse view.

Atmosphere
Hollies suits adult friends who want the songs and fancy dress to be part of the day. The club recommends its party setting particularly for those aged eighteen and over.

Families
Choose the specified alcohol-free blocks 1–3 when that policy matters to the group. The family designation answers the alcohol question; check shade and steps separately.

Wheelchair users
Discuss West Upper’s designated viewing with the access team, alongside South Lower and Hollies alternatives. Book the wheelchair position and companion arrangement together, including the route to facilities.

Seating FAQs
Which stands are covered at Edgbaston?
South has sheltered seating, Hollies and West Lower have partial cover, and the exact row matters. Public RES Wyatt, Press Box and West Upper seats are uncovered. Use the table and individual stand guide for the offered area.
Where is the best place to sit at Edgbaston?
For a straight cricket view, start with South. Choose Hollies for an adult party atmosphere or Dennis Amiss blocks 1–3 for alcohol-free family seating. There is no single best stand for every group.
Does the Edgbaston seating plan show seat numbers?
This plan shows stands and viewing choices. Use Edgbaston’s official map and live ticket selector for the exact block, row and seat numbers attached to a ticket.
Are the Dennis Amiss family blocks alcohol-free?
Yes. Edgbaston identifies blocks 1–3 as alcohol-free, with alcohol consumption prohibited in those seats. Other Dennis Amiss blocks should not be assumed to share that designation.
