Test tickets: ballots, sale dates and resale

2027 England Test ticket timetable

This timetable includes the Bangladesh Test at Lord’s, the World Test Championship Final, all five men’s Ashes Tests and the four-day women’s Ashes Test at Headingley. Each row links to its ground guide and official ticket route. The status changes with the published sales dates; the seller shows which seats remain.

The Oval’s World Test Championship Final has its own ticket process. Do not apply the club’s men’s Ashes ballot dates to it. Equally, the England Lions four-day match at Old Trafford is not a Test and is outside this table. Compare dates on the fixtures page before booking transport.

What a ballot actually gives you

A ballot is a route into a ticket allocation or purchase opportunity. Read the club’s form to see whether you are requesting particular seats, naming preferred match days or entering for an invitation to buy. Winning an opportunity to shop does not mean every stand and price remains available when your window opens.

For example, Surrey’s 2027 ballot asks applicants which matches they want and says preferences and ticket quantities depend on availability after member priority. Keep the confirmation, make sure the account email is accessible, and read the result for the purchase deadline. Set a reminder for that deadline in addition to the ballot closing date.

Apply for days your group can attend and decide the maximum total before the invitation arrives. Agree whether sitting together matters more than a particular stand. Have each child’s age category and any access requirements ready. Check the club’s entry rules before making multiple applications for the same party.

Choose the day and block before sale opens

A Test ticket normally names a particular day. Check the calendar date alongside “Day 2” or “Day 4”, especially when you are comparing several grounds. The women’s Ashes Test at Headingley has four scheduled days; do not plan a fifth. A later-day purchase also brings the possibility that the match has finished.

Use the ground guide to narrow the seats before the ticket map opens. At Lord’s Mound Stand, compare the tier and cover; at Edgbaston’s Dennis Amiss Stand, look at the family-area blocks. The stand name alone does not identify the row, restriction or atmosphere you are buying.

For a wheelchair position, companion seat or another specific access need, use the ground’s accessible-booking route. Contact that service before buying ordinary seats as a fallback. Ask about the exact location, companion arrangement and route from the gate, then keep the answer with your booking.

General sale and member priority

General sale is another chance to buy what is offered at that stage. It does not mean that every day, category or group of adjacent seats is available. Open the official account in advance and check that you can sign in. Avoid discovering a forgotten password while a timed basket is counting down.

Membership can give earlier access, but compare its full cost and specific ticket entitlement before joining for a single Test. An early window, an included seat and a discount are different benefits. Read the terms for the match and season you want, including whether you must still reserve or pay for the international ticket.

Keep a sensible alternative in mind: another Test day, a different stand, or the Bangladesh or women’s Ashes match. Compare the whole outing, including the journey and hotel, before accepting a more expensive ticket solely because it is available.

Use the official route for returns and resale

If a day is sold out, return to the club’s ticket page or ask its ticket office about authorised returns. Where a resale service is offered, follow the link from the club. Check the day, seat and price again when buying: a returned seat may be in a different area from the one you originally wanted.

If you cannot attend, ask the original seller how that ticket can be returned, transferred or resold. Those are separate actions and the permitted options depend on the event’s terms. Sharing a ticket with a friend through the seller’s account is not permission to advertise it anywhere.

An unofficial listing can leave you paying for a ticket that the organiser will not accept. Start from the ground or board’s website each time, including when a search result or social message offers an urgent deal. For hospitality or a travel package, confirm the provider appears in the organiser’s authorised route.

Buying Australian Test tickets

Cricket Australia directs buyers to Ticketmaster for the SCG, Perth Stadium and the WACA, and Ticketek for its other venues. Open the match through Cricket Australia first, then use the seller it names. The Australia guide and each ground hub link the appropriate route.

For the MCG anniversary Test, Boxing Day, the Sydney Test or the December matches at Perth and Adelaide, check the selected session or day before payment. Read the seller’s delivery instructions, download the correct ticket app if required, and arrange ticket sharing before your group separates at the gates.

After you have paid

Check the confirmation immediately: match, date, stand, row, seat numbers, age categories and the full charge. Save the order reference. For a multi-day visit, look for a ticket for every purchased day instead of assuming one barcode covers the whole Test.

Read the event’s refund policy before committing to travel. A rain refund for admission does not automatically cancel a hotel or train booking. Our rain guide explains the different Test-day rules; your first Test match helps you plan the hours around the cricket.
