Plan the journey
Parking at Utilita Bowl for a Test match
Book parking alongside your Test day, especially if you need a short route from the car. Utilita Bowl is outside Southampton city centre, so the useful choice is between a reserved venue space and an onward bus journey from a transport hub. A city-centre multi-storey does not put you beside the ground. The Ashes parking product covers 21–25 July 2027; choose the same date as your cricket ticket.
Last checked 13 October 2026. Match-specific arrangements take priority.
Is there parking at Utilita Bowl on Test days?
The venue offers limited parking by advance booking and directs ticketed-event visitors to its official ticket shop. An Ashes Men Parking listing is already present for the five Test dates. Buy through the club and retain the parking confirmation as well as the admission ticket: they serve different parts of your arrival.
For 2027, the parking tariff, available car-park categories, opening and closing times, and any dedicated park-and-ride service are TBC. A price displayed for the women’s ODI or another England match applies to that event. Select your Test date before comparing the amount and arrival instructions.
Official car parks and Park & Walk
The club’s September 2026 international guide distinguishes Close to Gate parking from Park & Walk. The latter uses Moorhill Road, SO30 3AY, with roughly ten minutes on a tarmac path to the East Gate. Cars stand on grass, and the route includes hills. It is unsuitable for visitors who need an accessible approach.
Car Park 11 is the club’s named Park & Walk area in its current domestic travel guidance. Its 2026 vehicle entrance arrangements changed, so use the directions on your purchased pass when approaching from the A27. Do not simply follow a remembered route from an earlier visit.
The September 2026 international arrangements opened parking thirty minutes before gates and closed it ninety minutes after the match, with no overnight parking. Treat those as the previous event’s operating times while awaiting the Ashes instructions. If you are staying locally between days, arrange overnight parking with your accommodation.
Station parking and private spaces
Southampton Airport Parkway provides a useful operator-run alternative when combined with onward transport. South Western Railway lists 900 spaces. Its published tariff effective from 18 October 2026 is £21.30 peak or £14.20 off-peak, with the weekday off-peak period starting at noon; Saturday and Sunday are £14.20. Those dated rates are a budgeting reference for 2027, when the displayed tariff should be checked again.
The station is about 3.5 miles from the ground, so plan a bus or taxi leg instead of treating the car park as a short walk to the gate. Pay the station parking separately from any event shuttle. A shuttle ticket does not cover the space where you leave the car.
JustPark and YourParkingSpace offer pre-booked private spaces. Compare the exact address, arrival window and pedestrian route before paying. The venue asks spectators to avoid parking in surrounding residential streets. A private booking gives permission for its listed space; it does not make neighbouring street parking available. Follow local signs and keep entrances clear.
Accessible and Blue Badge parking
For close-to-gate parking, contact the ticket office on 023 8047 2002, option 2, using the route set out on the club’s accessibility page. Explain the walking distance you can manage and any wheelchair unloading space needed. Make the parking request alongside your seating arrangements.
The international guidance requires a valid Blue Badge for its accessible parking arrangements, with advance booking and the badge shown to stewards. Our Utilita Bowl accessibility guide covers the onward route into the venue. The hilly Park & Walk approach is a different product and should not be substituted for close-to-gate parking.
Better without a car
If your train journey is straightforward, public transport avoids arranging a venue parking space. The club identifies Hedge End and Southampton Airport Parkway as its rail gateways. Hedge End is less than two miles away, with an approximately thirty-five-minute walk; Bluestar services also connect the venue with the stations and Southampton.
Compare those routes in the hub’s Getting there section. International rail shuttles have been sold separately, while some domestic services are free. Check the transport offer for your actual Test date before relying on either arrangement.
Leaving after stumps
The venue recommends leaving time after play for pedestrian and road traffic to ease. Its September 2026 international plan held on-site cars for at least twenty minutes while pedestrians departed. Build some flexibility into the journey home and follow the stewards’ release instructions.
