Parking at Old Trafford for a Test match
Old Trafford cricket parking needs a booking tied to the correct event. The cricket ground is on Talbot Road, and a football parking offer elsewhere in Old Trafford may have different hours and entrances. There is no Old Trafford Test in the 2027 England schedule; the ground’s listed internationals are white-ball matches. This guide explains the current parking arrangements to use when planning a future Test, with fixture-specific prices and opening times checked separately.
Last checked 13 October 2026. Match-specific arrangements take priority.
Is there parking at Old Trafford cricket ground on Test days?
Lancashire’s current match guide directs international spectators to the individual match instructions for any available parking. Checked 13 October 2026, the published £12 public and £6 member rates relate to County Championship and One Day Cup matches, not international cricket.
For a future Test, the general parking allocation, price, opening time and gate walking time are TBC. Look for a car-park product bearing the same fixture and date as your seat. Keep its entrance details with the match ticket: arriving at the main postcode is not enough to identify a reserved space.

Park and ride on Metrolink
The venue recommends Metrolink and confirms free parking for its customers at park-and-ride sites across the network. Navigation Road is one named option on the Altrincham route. Consult the Bee Network’s site details for current capacity, access and overnight rules, then buy the required tram ticket. Free parking does not make the tram journey free.
Old Trafford tram stop sits beside the cricket ground. The club gives a two-minute walk from the stop to its front gates. A park-and-ride journey can therefore remove the need to drive through the immediate stadium streets. Before setting off, check the route is operating and choose a return service that allows you to stay for the cricket you want to see.
Commercial and city-centre alternatives
Q-Park promotes Waterside as a city-centre parking option for Old Trafford cricket, using onward public transport. Book directly with the operator for your arrival and departure times. Its displayed quote is date-specific; there is no fixed cricket-day tariff to carry into a future Test. Treat this as parking plus a further journey, rather than a short walk to the turnstile.
Use Lancashire’s match guide when event sites are announced. In particular, a football match car park or a business’s ordinary opening hours should not be treated as a cricket booking without that operator’s confirmation.
Lancashire suggests YourParkingSpace for local advance bookings using M16 0PX. JustPark also lists car parks and private driveways near the cricket ground. Compare the named space, access instructions and booking window, including any time needed after play. These are independent parking services, with no affiliate link or commission attached here.
Street parking and event restrictions
Trafford Council says permit-only restrictions apply on event days. Check the signs where you intend to park and allow for temporary controls. A space advertised as near Old Trafford may refer to the football stadium, so confirm the address against your cricket entrance. Keep the booking confirmation available if access to a private driveway depends on instructions from its owner.

Accessible and Blue Badge parking
For internationals, Lancashire requires the limited accessible parking spaces to be booked in advance through its ticketing website. They may be off-site. The booking page and printable parking ticket specify the location, so a Blue Badge alone is not a reservation or assurance of on-site access.
Agree any transfer or walking requirement before purchasing. Our Old Trafford accessibility guide helps connect the parking discussion with the viewing area and companion seat. The first-come arrangements published for domestic Championship and One Day Cup matches do not apply automatically to a Test.

Staying at the ground
The venue’s hotel page currently lists parking at £10 per car per night, checked 13 October 2026. Ask the hotel how this works on your match date and whether arrival falls within any event restrictions. The venue also advertises complimentary conference parking, but that offer does not establish free parking for international ticket holders.
Better without a car
With a tram stop beside the venue and connections through central Manchester, public transport is the simpler starting point for most city-centre stays. Use the Getting there section to choose a route from your station or hotel. Compare the complete fare for your group with parking plus any onward travel, rather than the car-park price alone.
Leaving after stumps
The Bee Network warns that roads serving the venue can be busy. Its current travel advice is the place to check closures and service changes. The Hundred’s venue guide also warns of busy trams and identifies Firswood, about ten minutes away, as another stop. Check your route before walking there: it serves different lines.

Parking FAQs
Is there parking at Old Trafford cricket ground?
For internationals, Lancashire publishes availability in the individual match guide. Do not assume its domestic pay-on-arrival parking arrangements cover a Test.
Is there free parking near Old Trafford cricket ground?
Metrolink park-and-ride parking is free for tram customers at participating sites. Local event-day street restrictions still apply, and tram fares are separate.
How do I book Blue Badge parking?
Reserve through Lancashire’s ticketing website. International accessible spaces are limited and may be off-site; the parking ticket gives the location.
Is Old Trafford hosting a Test in 2027?
No. Its 2027 internationals are white-ball fixtures, so there is no 2027 Test parking allocation to book.
