Edrich Stand at Lord’s: choosing a Test seat
Edrich brings the Nursery End bowling into the foreground, with the Pavilion beyond the wicket. Choose it for the changing shape of a Test innings: slips moving, a new bowler marking out a run-up, or a captain spreading the field. The three levels offer distinctly different distances from that action.
Best for: A high Nursery End overview, with an upper-tier accessible viewing option.

Reading the match from Edrich
Edrich curves around the northeast corner, between the Media Centre and Mound side of the ground. The wicket appears at a different angle as you move across its blocks. If following the delivery towards the batter is your main reason for choosing this end, compare the centre and edges of the available section before committing to a ticket.
An upper-tier seat is a good starting point for watching field changes: the whole arrangement is easier to take in from above. You can follow a deep fielder coming up for the last delivery or a short-leg catcher moving as the bowling changes. The balcony provides another elevated choice, while the lower tier places you closer to the perimeter.
Edrich also rewards watching the bowler who is operating towards your end. Follow the batter’s stance, the space between fielders and the shot into the outfield. For a first visit, compare the seat-view image with the mini plan below, then decide whether you prefer this angled perspective or a side-on position in neighbouring Mound.

Morning shade and afternoon light
In the morning, Edrich’s roofed seating is on the shaded side of its daily pattern. Seats close to the field remain more exposed. For a long day, consider a position further into the covered area if shelter is important, and ask MCC to confirm the precise row before booking. The photograph helps explain the three-tier structure.
After lunch the sun faces Edrich, making a hat and sunglasses useful parts of your match bag. The evening session can bring lower light beneath the roof. Keep those items at your seat rather than packed away after the morning, especially if you plan to stay until the last over. A roof above the row provides only part of the comfort equation.
MCC needs to confirm exact covered rows in the present Edrich stand. Ask about your full seat reference, including the tier, and explain whether you need rain protection or shade. If you are comparing Edrich with Compton, both follow the same broad morning-shade and afternoon-sun pattern; use sightline and access needs to narrow the choice.

Choosing Edrich for your group
Edrich’s appeal is the cricket spread out below and the Pavilion backdrop. It is a rewarding setting for friends who want to follow an innings together, from the opening burst through the slower passages later in the day. Agree on the preferred height before searching for neighbouring seats: a group split between lower and upper tiers will spend the sessions apart.
Edrich access and facilities
Edrich’s upper wheelchair viewing area is at Entrance 8. A lift serves the level, followed by a ramp with a steep gradient to the viewing position. Companions sit alongside. Send MCC your requirements when arranging tickets so the approach can be discussed before the match, particularly if a steep ramp would present difficulty.
The lower tier also has a pitchside wheelchair area with a level approach. That gives a different view and route from the elevated option. For ordinary seating, expect steps between rows even where a lift reaches the concourse. Choose the precise level with the ticket team instead of relying on the stand name alone.
The Nursery View Bar is on the upper tier, with standard and adapted toilets serving that level. The adapted toilet is ahead and right from Lift 1; ask MCC about current transfer space if that is important to you. Establish the route from your seating entrance when you arrive, so refreshments and toilet breaks fit comfortably into your day.
MCC’s matchday travel advice suggests Baker Street for Edrich. Use your ticket’s gate instruction, then follow the signs to the correct level inside the ground. If others in your party arrive separately, send them the exact tier and entrance rather than arranging to meet simply “at Edrich”, which covers a substantial part of the Nursery End.
Booking the right Edrich level
Edrich’s balcony dining rights depend on the product selected. Compare the seating description and package inclusions on MCC’s official ticket platform for the particular match day. For the upper wheelchair area at Entrance 8, discuss its steep ramp and companion arrangement with MCC before making other travel commitments.
