Book your seat and personal assistant

Phone Yorkshire’s Ticket Office on 0113 2033631 to arrange accessible tickets. Free personal-assistant tickets are available, and the club may request supporting evidence. Give the date of each Women’s Ashes visit and describe the practical help you need. Keep your seating and companion confirmations together.

For a two-day Headingley trip, discuss both days in the same conversation. Explain whether you remain in a wheelchair, transfer to a seat, need an aisle or have difficulty with steps. If your companion needs to sit on a particular side, say that before the team searches for places. Ask for the exact stand and row in the reply.

Connect the ticket decision with the length of your day. A view you enjoy at 11:00 should still be comfortable later in the afternoon. Tell the club if glare, exposure or repeated trips through a crowded concourse could affect the visit. Give yourself time to consider the offered position before arranging the rest of the Leeds weekend.

Choose the station and final approach

Headingley station has National Rail category A step-free access. Burley Park is category B1: its step-free routes may involve long or steep ramps or streets. Compare the platform-to-street route in both directions and arrange Passenger Assist for boarding help. The shorter train journey alone does not settle which station will work best.

Headingley station leads towards Kirkstall Lane, with an uphill approach to the stadium. Burley Park leads towards St Michael’s Lane. Put your actual ground entrance into the route plan, then add time for pauses and the queue. If the final outdoor stretch would leave you tired before play, arrange an appropriate taxi from Leeds.

For a bus journey from central Leeds, start with the stop nearest your hotel and the entrance agreed with Yorkshire. The club lists routes 19, 19A and 56. Check the operator’s current journey details and discuss wheelchair or mobility-aid needs where relevant. Save an alternative return route in case your preferred connection becomes difficult after stumps.

Arrange parking, set-down and collection

Book parking directly with Yorkshire and use the location on your Test confirmation. The 2027 allocation is TBC. For 2026, the club assigns limited Blue Badge spaces to Car Park J and closes Car Park F to spectators. Give the team your access needs before purchase so the parking place and entrance fit together.

The club identifies St Michael’s Lane as a set-down area for disabled spectators. Agree the precise location and current traffic arrangements before travelling, including any one-way system. If your driver must leave to park, decide who stays with you and your bags. Keep the meeting instructions available on paper as well as on a phone.

For collection, choose a contact method and allow time for the crowd to disperse. Ask the club about any transport from the booked car park that you need. A comfortable waiting place matters after a long Test day, so include that in the arrival conversation instead of trying to find somewhere while everyone is leaving.

Viewing positions and personal-care facilities

Headingley’s accessible viewing includes the East Stand and Long Room, North East Lower, Trueman Enclosure, Western Terrace Block A and Howard seating. Ask which positions are available for your Test day and how you reach them. The ground has several distinct viewing angles, so explain the route you need alongside the cricket view you prefer.

The Howard Stand contains a Changing Place with a bench, hoist and shower. Bring your own sling; a steward can help with RADAR-key access. Before settling into the first session, locate the facility and make sure both you and your companion understand the route from your seats.

If you choose the Howard Upper, consider the height as well as the journey up. Yorkshire warns that the tier may be uncomfortable for people with vertigo. Ask about a lower option if that could affect you. Save the agreed lift or step-free route, and ask how staff will support you if your normal way out becomes unavailable.

Communication, breaks and support

Yorkshire offers Welco.Me for sharing accessibility preferences before a visit. Use it to explain anything that would make arrival and communication easier, then keep the booking team’s response with the tickets. A short description of what helps you is useful when different staff members assist at the gate and in the stand.

An East Stand Long Room hearing loop and lowered catering counters are among the club’s facilities. For a quieter break, ask staff to identify a suitable place for the Women’s Ashes day. Agree a simple signal with your companion before the crowd noise builds, and allow yourself to leave a passage of play when you need to.

Headingley has a multi-faith room at the East Stand entrance. If you want to use it during the Test, include it in your ground route and bring the personal items you need. The intervals can be busy, so choose a break around your own routine and ask a companion to keep track of the score.

Pace the four-day Test visit

Pack essential medication and care items where you can reach them from your Headingley seat. Yorkshire welcomes medication, although staff may ask about it during a bag search. Discuss any storage or equipment needs ahead of time. Add water, a warm layer and sun protection appropriate to your viewing position.

For consecutive days, use the evening at your Leeds accommodation to adjust anything that felt tiring. You may want an earlier arrival, a different refreshment break or more time between stumps and dinner. Tell the club promptly if an access arrangement needs attention before returning.

Keep the trip home as simple as the outward journey. Charge your phone, have the assistance booking ready and allow a generous gap before the main-line connection. Sunday is the fourth and final scheduled day: choose travel terms that fit your plans whether the cricket continues into the afternoon or has already finished.
